Paris Saint-Germain are looking at ways to strengthen their attack for the future, with Aston Villa forward Jhon Durán becoming a possible target.

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently reported that while PSG remain keen on Durán, negotiations could be tricky due to Villa’s £80 million asking price. This figure is influenced by Durán’s impressive performances and a recent contract extension, with Villa reportedly reluctant to sell unless they receive an exceptional offer.

PSG, however, believe Durán’s market value is around £25 million lower than Villa’s current demands. Nonetheless, the capital club aren’t alone in their pursuit of Durán.

On Monday, Jacobs confirmed that Aston Villa rejected a £57 million bid from West Ham for Durán. This marks West Ham’s second attempt to sign the player this transfer window. Villa are reportedly not willing to sell in January, with only a bid around £85 million (€100 million) potentially changing their stance—a figure also mentioned by PSG.

Despite their second bid being rejected, West Ham aren’t giving up on their pursuit of signing the young goal scorer. Graeme Bailey, Chief Correspondent at TBR Football, reported on Monday that the Hammers are confident the Colombian is eager to make the move to the London Stadium this month.

Durán is keen for regular starting opportunities, which he isn’t currently getting under Unai Emery with Ollie Watkins also at Aston Villa. PSG are also interested in the Aston Villa forward, who recently signed a new contract running until 2030 in October, but Durán is uncertain about the possibility of consistent playing time in Paris.

So far this season, Durán has made just four Premier League starts out of a possible 22.
