It's also an important opportunity for the west Londoners to rotate their squad during an intense schedule, having beaten Burnley U21s 2-1 on Friday afternoon.
"We know Welling will be a tough opponent, the basics of football need to be the priority to give us a platform to build on and play our game," said Saunders.
Brentford B have won six out of their last seven competitive fixtures, and are already in the semi-final of the Premier League Cup.
"The boys are on a really good run of form so hopefully we can keep that going tomorrow evening.“
Saunders last took charge of the B team when they hosted Bristol City at Gtech Community Stadium, coming out as victors in a 4-3 thriller.
The young Bees progressed to the quarter-finals with a 5-1 away victory over Athletic Newham.
Having been behind by a goal at the break, Kerron Samuels and Ethan Laidlaw turned the game around before Matas Klimas and a double from Caleb Redhead put the tie to bed.
Welling United compete in the National League South and currently sit in 22nd place in the division, two places from the bottom.
They drew 0-0 with Hornchurch in the league at the weekend, having beaten Ebbsfleet United in the Kent Senior Cup final in the previous midweek.
The sides have history in this competition - Welling United beat Brentford B 1-0 in the final to lift the trophy for the second time in their history in 2019.
The club will have updates of the game against Welling on social media, as well as a match report on the official website and app.
