Reigning Serie A Femminile champions Roma kept their faint title hopes alive with a narrow 2-1 victory over Inter Milan. Meanwhile, leaders Juventus dropped two points after being held to a 2-2 draw by AC Milan.
Here, we round up all of the latest action from the 2024/25 Serie A Femminile season.
Roma came from behind to claim a narrow Serie A win over Inter on Sunday. Tessa Wullaert required just six minutes to put the visitors in front. The Belgium international fired the ball into the top corner after being teed up by Henrietta Csiszár’s well-weighted pass. Wullaert’s sixth league goal of the season proved enough to give Inter a slender advantage at the break.
However, Roma were given the chance to equalise in the 68th minute after Marija Milinković was penalised for a foul on Evelyne Viens in the box. The reigning champions completed the dramatic turnaround in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Lucia Di Guglielmo nodded home from Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir’s parry to snatch all three points.
Juventus dropped two points in their away meeting with AC Milan. The visitors trailed at the break after Milan netted a first-half penalty. Mathilde Harviken’s foul gave Chanté Dompig the chance to slot her spot-kick past Pauline Peyraud-Magnin.
Juventus pulled themselves level just after the hour mark, thanks to Chiara Beccari’s second league goal of the season. The forward neatly controlled Sofia Cantore’s pass before she guided the ball into the net to swing the momentum in Juventus’ favour.
Cantore then provided another assist, sliding the ball through for Cristiana Girelli to sweep past Laura Giuliani. There ultimately proved to be one final twist in the 90th minute when Nikola Karczewska produced a deft flick to help Nadia Nadim’s low shot find the net. Despite dropping points, Juve remain comfortably ahead of Roma in the Serie A title race.
Megan Connolly scored just before the half-hour mark to get Lazio up and running. The Republic of Ireland international was on hand to guide home a deep free-kick to register her first Serie A Femminile goal.
Noemi Visentin doubled Lazio’s lead in the 63rd minute following an incisive counter-attack. The 24-year-old raced onto Elisabetta Oliviero’s through pass before she calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Oliviero provided another assist for Martina Piemonte to score her 12th league goal of the season. Zsanett Kaján added a fourth in stoppage time, whipping the ball past Beatrice Beretta to round off a dominant display.
Como produced a free-scoring display to see off Sassuolo on Monday evening. Julia Karlernäs headed home a 21st-minute opener to get the hosts up and running. Zara Kramžar added a second before the break, slotting the ball into the bottom corner from Alex Kerr’s cut-back.
Eli del Estal came off the bench to wrap up a successful evening for the home side. The substitute towered high to steer home a header from Kramžar’s corner, rounding off Como’s first win since January 11.
