Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is planning to hold talks with Darwin Núñez after his miss in Wednesday's draw with Aston Villa.
Núñez spurned a gilt-edged opportunity to complete the Premier League leaders' second-half turnaround at Villa Park but fluffed his lines with the goal at his mercy.
Despite the Uruguayan's profligacy extending to an eighth game in all competitions, Slot insists that it was the forward's response to the miss which concerns him more.
"I can accept every miss especially from a player who scored two very important goals against Brentford," said Slot.
"I would prefer him to score but what was harder was his behaviour after the chance. I think he got too much in his head.
"He wasn't the usual Darwin who works his ass off and makes sure he helps the team. I think he was too disappointed after missing that chance and was a fraction short.
"It's not about the chance for me, it's about the 20 minutes after that I want to talk to him about."
Slot also revealed the Reds are set to be without Conor Bradley for Sunday's clash with Manchester City while fellow defender Joe Gomez has undergone surgery.
He added: "I would be surprised if he is involved Sunday or against Newcastle.
"Joe Gomez has had surgery, out for a long time. He maybe back before the end of the season.
"Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold didn't play 90 minutes [against Villa] because they have only just come back."
Liverpool travel to the Etihad Stadium seeking their first win their since 2015.
