Axel Disasi is still rejecting a loan move to Tottenham as he only wants to join Aston Villa, but Chelsea won’t do it according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer window slams shut at 11pm on Monday night meaning we are now into the final hours, and Chelsea still have a lot to do.

The Blues have yet to sign anyone, but things have gathered pace in regards to departures with both Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka agreeing loan exits.

Disasi still rejecting Tottenham

Another play the Blues are trying to move on before the deadline is Disasi, who has made it clear he wants to leave the club.

The defender has attracted interest from clubs around Europe, but has insisted his preference is to join Villa, who he’s said to have agreed terms with.

However, it was reported last week that Chelsea were blocking his departure to Unai Emery’s side because they don’t want him to join a rival for Champions League qualification.

Disasi is rejecting a loan move to Tottenham.

This has seen Tottenham enter the race for the France international, and they have agreed a loan deal with Chelsea for Disasi, with no buy option and a loan fee.

Despite this Disasi has rejected the move and the whole situation is quite something, with it unclear what’s going to happen.

Romano has now provided a further update on the saga with it seeming things are at a complete standby currently.

“Axel Disasi is still saying no to Tottenham, he wants Villa but Chelsea don’t want to do it,” he said on his YouTube channel.

Disasi arrived at Chelsea from Monaco in the summer of 2023 for around £39m and made 44 appearances in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino, but under Enzo Maresca things have been very different.

The 26-year-old is way down the pecking order and has started just four league games this season, although he’s featured more regularly in the cups, but it’s hard to see how him staying benefits the player or Chelsea, with it beneficial for all parties to find a solution.
