Such is the uncertainty surrounding Manchester United following their disastrous campaign that INEOS have placed almost their entire roster up for sale for the right price.
It would be a surprise to see Amad get sold given he was one of the few shining lights in what was a dismal season, especially given his versatility.
The Ivorian scored 11 times while also adding nine assists, and as relayed by The Peoples Person, AC Milan could pounce if they get any indication that INEOS are open to a deal.
Now, Ivorian outlet 225Foot.com have revealed that Sunderland, where Amad spent the 2022/23 season, are looking at the 22-year-old following their promotion to the Premier League.
During his loan spell, the United ace almost single-handedly took the Black Cats to the play-offs but they eventually lost in the semi-finals.
The versatile attacker clearly has fond memories of his time at the Stadium of Light, and the Sunderland hierarchy are internally discussing his name.
They are prepared to offer a loan or even a permanent offer should the 20-time English league champions be open to the idea.
“Back in the top flight of English football, Sunderland are looking to make a big impact in the transfer market. According to 225foot , the north-east English club is targeting Ivory Coast international Amad Diallo to strengthen its attacking wing.
“Coming off a fine season with Manchester United (11 goals, 9 assists), Amad Diallo has no shortage of suitors. Among them, Sunderland, a club he knows well having played there during the 2022-2023 season. During this successful loan in the Championship, he scored 14 goals and was one of the key players in the team’s run to the promotion play-offs.
“This time, the Black Cats are back in the Premier League and looking to rely on players who are already established in their environment. Amad’s name is constantly being discussed internally, especially as the player maintains a strong relationship with the club and its supporters.”
Amad signed a contract extension recently and his current deal is valid until 2030 with his current market value standing at €40 million.
With Alejandro Garnacho expected to depart, there is very little chance the Ivorian leaves as well given his importance to Amorim’s plans.
