Surprised to see this overreaction as Paul Mitchell leaves Newcastle United

Paul Mitchell is leaving his post as Newcastle United Sporting Director.
The news revealed by the club on Tuesday.
I was surprised to see the overreaction of some Newcastle United fans.
According to quite a few fans, the timing of the decision made by the club was all wrong, with fans sensing/suggesting turbulence in the camp ahead of the summer transfer window.
I don’t go along with any of this at all.
On the contrary, I believe that this actually could be the best time possible to part company with Paul Mitchell.
Eddie Howe has always insisted that he has the final say on player transfers and this summer is going to be one of Newcastle United’s most important transfer windows since the takeover in 2021.
I believe that Eddie Howe wants players that are Premier League ready and maybe he and Paul Mitchell didn’t see eye to eye on that.
Some journalists claim that Mitchell’s preference was more of a preference to delve into the European market, looking for relatively youthful gems with the budget always in mind.
I get tired of reading stuff from the bean counters in the media and those amongst our fans.
I don’t want a PSR fiasco down the line but I also don’t think splashing decent cash on proven ability will somehow come back and bite us on the jacksie.
I’m certainly not averse to buying a Bryan Mbeumo type player who will be 26 in August.
This is the time to buy certain players in their prime and go for the trophies. Such players give our club a stronger chance of being regulars in the Champions League.
Players will have already have been identified by Eddie Howe and Paul Mitchell.
If we are going to be doing our business early, then it’s going to be Eddie Howe making all the big decisions.
He will already be well drilled in what we can and can not afford and he’ll have the full backing of the board.
I don’t think United will be in any rush to replace Paul Mitchell at this stage. Obviously with Darren Eales standing down a new CEO will be arriving.
It is vitally important that this person has a good relationship with the manager.
I’m speculating that Chief Scout Steve Nickson will now be given a more significant role at the club.
Some of you will think I’m a bit of a dinosaur when I say this but do we really need to bring in another Director of Football (Sporting Director) at this time?
I would rather now let the dust settle and trust in our manager and his staff.
