This season, the Paris Saint-Germain Training Center has launched an Espoirs team to develop and maximise playing time for all its young players. The creation of this new team, an essential link in the Parisian training system, will promote progression and maintain the Club's status as a global benchmark in youth development.

STRENGTHENING THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG TALENTS

Faced with a growing need for playing time for its developing young players, Paris Saint-Germain has decided to create an additional team within its Youth Academy.

This decision was made easier by the world-class facilities available to the young players at the PSG Campus.

Until last summer, the Club only had two youth teams for male players aged 15 and over at the Youth Academy. This had become too limiting given the number of young 'Titis' developing within the structure.

The creation of this third team at the Youth Academy, composed of the U19 French champions and new recruits, will primarily allow our young talents to face senior-level players. This is a crucial element in their development, promoting their adaptation and smooth transition into professional squads.

The benefits of creating this additional team will be felt across all categories. With the players now spread over three teams instead of two, they will enjoy increased average playing time.

The Club also doesn't hesitate to field young squads in each category to challenge the players and encourage their progression.

The U19 team is primarily made up of U18 players, a group that will remain intact when participating in the Coupe Gambardella (reserved for players under 18).

As for the U17 team, it is mostly composed of U16 players, almost exclusively from the Pre-Youth Academy. These young players will gain playing time as soon as they enter the Club, ensuring a seamless continuity in their development.

on the schedule: CHALLENGE ESPOIRS, MATCHES AGAINST N1 and L2 SIDES

This new team will participate in the 'Challenge Espoirs,' a competition organised by the French Football Federation (FFF), with the schedule officially announced a few days ago.

This specific competition for post-development players will offer high-quality opposition and a gradual increase in difficulty.

In addition, matches against National 1 and Ligue 2 teams will be scheduled throughout the season, along with games against elite squads from French and foreign professional clubs.

The Espoirs team will also take part in several Regional 2 matches, a league where the senior team of the Paris Saint-Germain Association currently plays.

Finally, some Espoirs players who meet the eligibility criteria will also be called up for UEFA Youth League matches, joining a specific squad composed of players born in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
