The top five Premier League goals of 2024

Kobbie Mainoo – Wolves vs MANCHESTER UNITED

Kobbie Mainoo emerged as one of the breakout stars of the 2023/24 campaign, as the precociously gifted midfielder earned his chance at Manchester United.

Mainoo’s magical first Premier League goal decided a thrilling contest at Wolves in February, a sublime solo strike that saw the 18-year-old pick the ball up on the left, nutmeg Max Kilman and drop a shoulder before bending the ball into the bottom corner.

A tantalising glimpse of the player’s potential.

Cole Palmer – CHELSEA vs Everton

From one breakthrough player to the breakthrough player of the Premier League year.

Cole Palmer’s sensational season was one of the stories of the campaign last term, as the midfielder made a huge impact at Chelsea. Palmer’s campaign delivered 22 goals in the league alone, including an astonishing four-goal haul against Everton.

The midfielder scored four as Chelsea hit the Toffees for six at Stamford Bridge, with his first arguably the best of the bunch. A cheeky nutmeg on Jarrad Branthwaite, a flick full of flair, and a finish placed perfectly into the far corner.

Jeffrey Schlupp – Fulham vs CRYSTAL PALACE

Hey Siri, can you define unstoppable?

Mohammed Kudus – Manchester City vs WEST HAM

Absolutely magnificent meets absolutely meaningless with this Mohammed Kudus effort.

The Ghanaian scored spectacularly during his side’s 3-1 defeat at Manchester City, an audacious overhead kick overshadowed by City’s title-clinching victory at the Etihad.

Still, credit where credit’s due. This is something special from a player who has brought an x-factor to East London.

Moises Caicedo – CHELSEA vs Bournemouth

What a way to score your first goal for the club.

Moises Caicedo had an up-and-down debut season at Chelsea following his record-breaking move to the West Londoners from Brighton. The Ecuadorian signed off for the season on a high note, however, with a brilliant goal from distance on the final day.

After Neto’s clearance fell invitingly to the midfielder, Caicedo launched an effort from the halfway line over the stranded shot-stopper.
