TMW: Aston Villa and Chelsea enquire about Milan star Maignan – the situation | OneFootball

Mike Maignan’s future with AC Milan remains uncertain and according to a report, Aston Villa and Chelsea have enquired about the Frenchman’s situation.

After many tough months this season, receiving heavy criticism from the fanbase and Italian media, Maignan now looks like a revived player. It started with three penalty saves for France while on international duty, followed up by great performances against Inter and Fiorentina.

That being said, the Frenchman’s future with the club hasn’t been decided, with the current deal expiring in 2026. Talks for a contract renewal are at an advanced stage but Milan decided to put the matter on hold due to the inconsistent performances, leaving the door open for an exit.

Sure enough, as reported by TMW’s Niccolo Ceccarini, the likes of Aston Villa and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the situation. They have even asked Milan for information on Maignan, who could be sold if the Rossoneri were to receive a good offer (in other words, he’s not unsellable).

Maignan stated after the game last night that he’s happy at Milan, but also that he didn’t want to talk about a potential renewal right. The remainder of the season will likely tell us a lot, especially as the Rossoneri might not get European football for the next campaign.
