Tottenham Injury Update: Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, and Kevin Danso Latest News

Tottenham Hotspur approach the international break with a mixed bag of emotions. While securing a Europa League quarter-final spot was a major boost, the disappointing 2-0 defeat to Fulham in the Premier League has left Ange Postecoglou’s men with a lot to ponder.

With domestic form faltering and no realistic route to European qualification via the league, Spurs are fully focused on ensuring they are at their peak when Eintracht Frankfurt visit for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on April 10.

A number of injuries have hampered Tottenham’s rhythm, but Postecoglou is optimistic that key players, including Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison, will return in time for the European showdown. Here’s the latest on Tottenham’s injury situation.

Dejan Kulusevski Nearing Return

Dejan Kulusevski has been absent since Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester City at the end of February. The sight of the Swedish international in a protective boot raised concerns about a serious layoff, but Postecoglou has provided reassurance regarding his progress.

“Post-international break we expect him to sort of start to move back towards the team,” confirmed the Spurs boss last week.

If all goes to plan, Kulusevski should be available in early April, potentially making his return for the crucial Chelsea clash at Stamford Bridge on April 3. However, Tottenham’s priority will be having him fit for the European quarter-final.

Potential Return Date: Early April

Richarlison Pushing to Be Fit

It’s been a frustrating campaign for Richarlison, whose season has been repeatedly interrupted by injuries. The Brazilian forward was forced off with a calf issue during the Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool in February, adding to his fitness woes.

The positive news is that Richarlison has been training separately and could rejoin the squad after the international break.

“After the international break, we don’t play until the following midweek so that’s a good two and a half weeks for guys like him and Richy [Richarlison] to work hard and speed up their rehab,” Postecoglou confirmed.

Tottenham will be hoping to see the Brazilian return in time for the Chelsea fixture, but as with Kulusevski, ensuring he is fully fit for the Europa League quarter-final is the priority.

Potential Return Date: Early April

Kevin Danso Working Towards Recovery

January signing Kevin Danso has yet to make a significant impact for Spurs after suffering a thigh injury just before the Europa League quarter-final qualification clash against AZ Alkmaar.

Like Kulusevski and Richarlison, Danso is expected to return after the international break.

“The same [for Kevin Danso], after the international break,” Postecoglou confirmed.

Given Tottenham’s defensive struggles in recent weeks, having Danso back in the squad could be crucial as they look to tighten things up at the back ahead of the Frankfurt tie.

Potential Return Date: Early April

Radu Dragusin’s Long Road to Recovery

One player Spurs will be without for the foreseeable future is Radu Dragusin. The Romanian defender underwent surgery following a serious knee injury in February and is not expected back anytime soon.

Potential Return Date: Unknown

Spurs’ Injury Woes Easing at the Right Time

Tottenham’s recent dip in form has been concerning, but the potential return of key players like Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison could provide a much-needed boost. With their Europa League hopes now the primary focus, ensuring the squad is as close to full strength as possible ahead of the Frankfurt tie will be crucial.

Postecoglou will hope to welcome back several key figures in early April, just in time for a season-defining run of fixtures.
