Valencia star Rafa Mir finds himself at the heart of a last-minute deadline day transfer saga.

This comes amid confirmation that the frontman has made his way firmly onto the wishlist of the brass at Serie A outfit Fiorentina.

The Viola are on the lookout for reinforcements in the final third ahead of the fast-approaching deadline, with a whole host of options having been taken into consideration.

As alluded to above, though, it is Mir whom those behind the scenes in Tuscany appear to have settled on as their priority target.

As per a report from Relevo transfer insider Matteo Moretto, Fiorentina tabled an offer for the Spaniard earlier today, which was initially rejected.

However, talks have since been kicked back into gear between the parties, with the Italian club increasingly confident of striking an agreement before the winter window slams shut.

A fresh update on the story is expected in short order.
