Real Madrid welcomed Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to earn maximum points at home in La Liga. Los Blancos made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men pushed on in search of the winning goal in the second half and finally found it in injury-time when Federico Valverde got his name on the scoresheet. The contest ended with Real Madrid earning a last-gasp 1-0 win at the Bernabeu.
