New Torino signing Eljif Elmas hit what some have considered a ‘goal of the season contender’ during the club’s 3-2 loss against Bologna in Serie A on Friday evening, nutmegging Sam Beukema and chipping Lukasz Skorupski with two touches of the ball to hand his side a temporary lead.

It was the former Napoli midfielder’s first appearance since joining Torino on loan from RB Leipzig during the January transfer window. He came off the bench in the 62nd minute, and found himself on the scoresheet by the 65th.

In what was his first attacking contribution for the Granata, the 25-year-old showed a phenomenal bit of skill and control in the area to stick the ball through Beukema’s legs before scooping over Skorupski from the edge of the six-yard box.

Though Elmas’s goal handed Torino a 2-1 lead, they would go on to lose by a 3-2 margin. Dan Ndoye hit a brace and could have found a hat-trick, but it was an own goal from debutant Cristiano Biraghi that handed the three points to the Rossoblu.
