Lazio will be hoping to take a significant step towards the Europa League quarter-finals when they take on Viktoria Plzen in the first leg of the Round of 16.
The encounter will take place at the Doosan Arena in Plzen, Czech Republic. It kicks off on Thursday at 21:00 CET.
Experienced manager Miroslav Koubek will be without his injured left-back Cheick Souare and young striker Christophe Kabongo. He is expected to deploy a 3-4-1-2 formation spearheaded by the veteran Matej Vydra and the young Rafiu Durosinmi, with Pavl Sulc operating behind them.
Amar Memic and Cadu are tipped to start the wings, while Lukas Cerv and Lukas Kalvach should operate in the double pivot.
Viktoria Plzen (3-4-1-2): Jedlicka; Markovic, Dweh, Jemelka; Memic, Kalvach, Cerv, Cadu; Sulc; Vydra, Durosinmi
Marco Baroni will introduce some changes to his starting lineup as is always the case when Lazio play in midweek. Christos Mandas is the designated cup goalkeeper, while Manuel Lazzari returns to the lineup as Adam Marusic is nursing a slight knock. Nuno Tavares is the solitary choice at left-back in the absence of the injured Elseid Hysaj and the excluded Luca Pellegrini.
Mario Gila should be rested, so Samuel Gigot and Alessio Romagnoli should start at the back. Matteo Guendouzi and Nicolo Rovella will retain their places in the middle of the park, and the same goes for Boulaye Dia and Gustav Isaksen. Finally, Pedro and Tijjani Noslin are expected to replace the absent Mattia Zaccagni and Taty Castellanos.
Lazio (4-2-3-1): Mandas; Lazzari, Gigot, Romagnoli, Nuno Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella; Isaksen, Dia, Pedro; Noslin.
