Newcastle deserving the victory but having to grind it out, rather than creating numerous chances.

A very negative West Ham set-up making it difficult to find space in the final third, with a very deep Hammers midfield.

However, Bruno eventually getting the winner.

Looking at the individuals in black and white, interesting to get an independent perspective on how this played out.

Tonali (7.6) and Bruno (7.6) getting the same rating but the Italian shading it as the Whoscored man of the match, which I think is how a lot of Newcastle fans saw it. Though Bruno was named the official man of the match.

Kieran Trippier (7.5) was third highest, having a very decent match at right-back. Indeed, Nick Pope and all of his back four getting 7.0 or better, playing well overall to get that all important clean sheet.

As for the three who were rated less than 7.0.

Not very often Alexander Isak (6.1) will get the very lowest rating of the NUFC starting eleven, whilst Jacob Murphy (6.8) lacked quality at times with his crossing. Joelinton (6.9) a little unlucky to be rated just below that 7.0 line.
