There is still only one point separating Napoli and Inter heading into the final week of the 2024-25 Serie A season after a pair of draws in matches involving the league’s frontrunners in the penultimate round of league fixtures.

Napoli are a step away from being crowned 2024-25 Serie A champions after a 0-0 draw away against Parma on Sunday night.

They retain a +1 point advantage over Inter, who were also held level in a 2-2 draw against Lazio in San Siro, largely thanks to a 90th minute equalising penalty from Pedro, his second strike of the game.

The situation means that Napoli will be crowned champions of the 2024-25 Serie A division with a win against Cagliari in the final match of the season. Cagliari have already secured safety from relegation and will have nothing to play for next time out.

There are still a few different situations that could unfold heading into the final day of the season, though. Here’s a look at what could still happen at the top of the table

What Napoli and Inter need to win the Serie A title

For Inter, a win against Cagliari in the final game of the season will guarantee the title.

The Partenopei can also win the Serie A title with a draw, as long as Inter does not win in their final match of the season away against Como. Napoli will also win the Serie A title if both teams lose in the final weekend of the season.

For Inter, the situation is fairly simple. They require a victory away against Como in the last round of the season, and for Napoli to either draw or lose against Cagliari.

There is one remaining scenario that could lead to a Serie A play-off for the 2024-25 title: If Napoli lose against Cagliari and if Inter draw against Como.
