The major talking point in Serie A today was the future of Gian Piero Gasperini and he has now agreed to join Roma.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that the Italian will sign a new deal at Roma till the summer of 2028, despite Juve’s best attempts.

The Bianconeri had a long phone conversation with Gasperini today but it wasn’t enough, as the Atalanta manager weighed up the two options he had and has now agreed to join thee Giallorossi.

Even Giorgio Chiellini had personally tried to convince Gasperini after having sought support from the Old Lady ownership. But Roma had moved early and Juve were left in a difficult position after Antonio Conte stayed at Napoli.

The veteran manager believed that he would find himself in a more suitable environment at Roma and not at Juve, because of the Bianconeri’s constant changes in management. Gasperini had already met Dan Friedkin on Thursday in a convincing face-to-face meeting and they exchanged ideas and visions about the future of the club.

The Roman club’s owners had hosted Gasperini at a resort in Florence and they made the manager feel important. This made Gasperini believe that he will be heard at Roma and his ideas have space.

A three-year contract has now been accepted by the ‘mister’.
