Noel Buck has officially ended his loan spell with Southampton, to return to MLS with his beloved side New England Revolution.
Southampton are known to have one of the best youth academies in the world. This has consistently been the case in the modern era, with some of the world's best players and competitors coming out of the Southampton setup.
Unfortunately, not every player who was developed at Southampton ended up making it as a Saint. Some did leave behind a legacy at Southampton, while others achieved their success elsewhere.
The most famous examples of players who came through the Southampton youth setup include Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Luke Shaw.
Even to this day, Southampton are still known for their famous youth academy. It has even been an attractive proposition for players around the world to join it.
Southampton signed Noel Buck from MLS side New England Revolution in the summer transfer window. It was a short-term loan deal, which would see the Arlington, Massachusetts born athlete develop at Southampton until January.
Today, it was officially confirmed that Noel Buck has returned to New England Revolution. So, he will now train with the Revolution before they commence their 2025 season at the end of February.
The talented playmaker did not make any senior appearances for Southampton. Instead, he spent some time developing within the club's U21 setup, coached by the former interim manager Simon Rusk.
As outlined by the official MLS Soccer website, Buck made six appearances for the Southampton U21 side, before officially returning from his loan spell on Monday 6 January.
New England Revolution finished 26th overall last season and did not qualify for the MLS Cup. They reached the Quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League, though, and the Round of 32 in the Leagues Cup.
