27-year-old should follow Junior Morais out of Notts County this summer

This duo must surely be in need of a move away from Meadow Lane this summer.
Notts County still have their target of a return to League One for the first time since 2015 in their sights as we enter the closing stages of the season.
A run of poor form of late is eating into the progress made through a terrific run of form across the new year period, but the Magpies could yet find themselves inside the top three come the end of the season.
Their campaign has been hindered by injuries throughout, with Jodi Jones, Curtis Edwards, Conor Grant, Lucas Ness, Lewis Macari all having faced prolonged periods on the sidelines.
Notts’ squad depth has come under scrutiny on several occasions over the course of the campaign, and they will surely be looking to improve upon that over the summer.
However, given that the club is always extremely careful not to overspend, it may well be the case that certain players need to be offloaded, before increased quality can be brought in.
With that in mind, here are two players who should surely be targeting a move away from Meadow Lane when the summer transfer window opens.
Currently out on loan at National League outfit Solihull Moors, Cundy’s move to Nottingham simply hasn’t worked out.
The former Bristol City and Barnsley man arrived with a pedigree far above League Two level, having already enjoyed significant experience of both the Championship and League One.
It was perhaps telling of his injury-hit past that Notts only handed the 27-year-old a one-year deal and, with the benefit of hindsight, that looks to have been a good decision.
The centre back has struggled to ever properly settle into Stuart Maynard’s side. Right from the start of the season, he has found himself behind the imperious duo of Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau, with Lewis Macari or Lucas Ness also often preferred on the right of the back three.
In recent weeks, Rod McDonald has also broken into the side ahead of Cundy, who has had to settle almost exclusively for substitute appearances. He has also regularly been in and out of matchday squads over the course of the campaign, meaning a loan spell away from the club is highly ideal at the moment.
Given how little he has shown, it would be a huge surprise to see him offered a new deal in the summer. From Cundy’s point of view, it would also surely be beneficial to have a change of scenery in order to hopefully get his once-promising career back on track.
Another Notts man who is out on loan in the National League, Morias’ situation at Notts has been clear for quite some time now.
Currently on loan at Woking, this is the striker’s second different loan spell this season. He performed well for Dagenham and Redbridge in the first half of the campaign, and he has always been a capable goalscorer at non-league level.
However, he has never really looked comfortable at EFL level, barring a brief spell with Peterborough United back in 2017/18.
Even the initial deal to bring the Jamaican to Nottingham was a confusing one. Notts were locked in an incredible title race with Wrexham back in the 2022/23 season and Morias was brought in as cover for Macaulay Langstaff with just a few weeks of the season remaining.
Bizarrely, the Magpies paid an undisclosed fee for his services and handed him a three-year deal, which still has one year left to run. He has never really threatened to break into the team at all during his spell with the club so far and it is almost inevitable that he won’t be playing for Notts next season.
He has become the forgotten man at times and it’s easy to look over the fact that technically, he is still a Notts player.
Ideally, for both the club and Morias, a National League side is willing to take him on a permanent basis. Failing that, he will surely be loaned out for the duration of the campaign once again.
