Manchester United finished 15th in the Premier League and recently missed out on signing Liam Delap, but all fans care about is the future of Bruno Fernandes.

The club captain, who once again carried the team on his back, has been linked with a mega-money move to Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League.

His agent was spotted in talks with the Saudi outfit, and plenty of reports have suggested that the Red Devils will not stand in his way should the Portugal international decide to jump ship.

Initially, Al-Hilal had given the midfield maestro three-days to decide, but have now extended the deadline by another seven days.

Al-Hilal extend deadline for Bruno Fernandes

The United star being in a different time zone due to United’s Far-East commitments have complicated affairs, but the 31-year-old is expected to take a call once he returns home and talks with his family and agent.

Interestingly, The Daily Mail have claimed that the Saudi outfit are growing impatient given the impending Club World Cup and are ready to move away if there is any indication that Fernandes is mulling over staying on at Old Trafford.

“Al-Hilal have given Bruno Fernandes one week to make a decision over leaving Manchester United for the Saudi Pro League before they walk away from the deal.

“The Saudi club are said to be impatient and want a marquee player in place for the Club World Cup next month.

Could pull the plug earlier

“They have other targets and could pull the plug before the end of the one-week deadline if they sense that Fernandes is leaning towards staying at Old Trafford.”

Al-Hilal are prepared to pay the Portuguese ace £65m-a-season in wages while submitting a bid to United worth £100 million.

United legend Paul Scholes has advised the club to take the offer while Ruben Amorim is hopeful that his compatriot will stay put.

The ball seems to be in Bruno Fernandes’ court. Fans are waiting with bated breath. The club’s immediate future is at stake.
