Another Real Madrid star misses training ahead of Sevilla clash | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday been dealt yet another setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that defender Raúl Asencio played no part in the club’s latest training session this morning.

Carlo Ancelotti’s squad marked their return to action at Valdebebas earlier today.

After being afforded a day off on Thursday on the back of their victory over Mallorca, Los Blancos kicked preparations for their penultimate outing of the campaign, against Sevilla, into gear.

These preparations were dented by a whole host of high-profile absentees, with no fewer than 11 members of Ancelotti’s ranks having missed out.

And amongst this long list of absences, as alluded to above, was a new name.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘Two days before Sevilla, Real Madrid (have suffered) another setback. Asencio, with an overload, is doubtful. Today, he didn’t take to the pitch.’

Defender Asencio now faces a race against time to play his part at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Sunday evening.
