Manchester United enjoyed a sensational night on the continent, beating Athletic Club 3-0 in the Basque Country in the first leg of the semi-final of the Europa League.
Nonetheless, two of their loanees also enjoyed a very successful night’s work as Antony and Jadon Sancho both scored in their new club’s respective Conference League semi-finals.
Antony has been in great form since his move to Real Betis and rocketed in his sixth goal for his new team against Fiorentina.
After 64 minutes, he had his original shot blocked but he smashed in the rebound from outside the box with his weaker foot against his former teammate David de Gea. His side would eventually go on to win the contest 2-1.
He played the entire 90 minutes and made 90% of his passes.
The United winger also completed 100% of his dribble attempts and won his only aerial duel. He was successful in three out of his seven ground battles.
Antony also played his part defensively, making two interceptions and one tackle in a highly contested semi-final.
The winger will likely next be in action on Sunday when his side travel to Catalonia to face RCD Espanyol de Barcelona.
Jadon Sancho also got on the scoresheet as Chelsea overcame Djurgårdens IF Fotboll 4-1 away from home to all but secure their place in the Conference League final.
He gave his side the perfect start after 12 minutes in Sweden when he received the ball in the penalty area and squeezed his effort past the keeper and the last man on the line.
The United winger played the full 90 minutes and completed 82% of his passes on the night.
Sancho completed one of his two dribble attempts and won two out of his three ground duels.
He could next be in action when his Chelsea side welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
