Arne Slot reveals key Liverpool absence for Arsenal trip | OneFootball

Arne Slot has confirmed Diogo Jota will not be available for Liverpool’s trip to Arsenal.

Jota was withdrawn in the first half of last weekend’s win over Chelsea with a rib injury sustained during the opening stages.

The Portugal international had hoped to be in contention for the clash at the Emirates Stadium but has already been ruled out of the clash.

Slot also revealed that summer signing Federico Chiesa and full-back Conor Bradley could be back in contention ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

“I think they feel good but not when it comes to playing for us at the weekend,” said Slot.

“Federico might train with us today or tomorrow but Diogo definitely not.

“Conor Bradley, let’s see if he can be with us tomorrow.”

The Dutchman also provided an update on Alisson’s recovery from a hamstring injury picked up against Crystal Palace earlier this month.

“He’s progressing well, like we expect. But it’s not a short-term recovery,” added Slot.

“It’s always difficult to judge an injury until the  last stage of rehab and he’s not quite there yet.

“We’re not sure how long he’ll be out but don’t expect him to be in against Brighton [next weekend] or for the League Cup.”

The Reds can open up a seven-point gulf in the Premier League title race with their hosts by securing a win in the capital on Sunday.
