Aston Villa have held what have been described as ‘positive’ negotiations in order to bring in an attacker from a Champions League side.
Villa recently sanctioned a departure for Jhon Duran, who is set to join Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, while Emi Buendia was sent on loan to Bayer Leverkusen.
Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his forward department as a result and Aston Villa want Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Asensio.
The former Real Madrid winger, who is capable of playing in a number of positions in the final third, wants to leave the French outfit for regular game time.
He turned out in four of Real Madrid’s Champions League league phase games.
Aston Villa are in contact with PSG to find a deal to take the Spaniard to Villa Park in the ongoing window.
According to French sports daily L’Equipe, negotiations to find resolution for Asensio’s future are ongoing between Aston Villa and PSG.
Different parties involved in the negotiations indicate that the talks between two clubs have been ‘positive’.
Several Premier League outfits have shown interest in the forward, but it is suggested that Asensio is keen on joining Aston Villa.
