Chelsea’s season is certainly not over by all means, but it has absolutely been somewhat crushed by the latest news that came out last night.

News broke that striker Nicolas Jackson is now going to be out injured until April after having a scan on Wednesday.

He joins Marc Guiu, who is expected back around a similar time after getting injured in the same game as Jackson did.

So Chelsea are now without Jackson and Guiu, who are the only two recognised strikers in their squad, for a huge chunk of what is left of the season and a large number of games.

They literally have nobody else, other than Christopher Nkunku, who can naturally play in that number 9 position, and even Nkunku is a stretch. But apparently they are still ‘confident’ in the options they have even after this news came out.

Chelsea have now gone five transfer windows and failed to sign a true out and out striker. Jackson for me will always be a second or wide striker, he is not a pure 9.

It is pure incompetence that Chelsea have not signed a true number 9 in five transfer windows. Yet we are hearing that they are confident with the choices they have. And what is that exactly? Playing an attacking midfielder as a centre forward? Come on!

Matt Law of The Telegraph writes:

“Chelsea are confident the squad can cope with Jackson’s absence.”

Sure, OK. Well I’ll tell you who isn’t confident, literally nobody else, not even one single person, in the whole fan base and footballing world! I can be confident in writing and saying that, if anyone is looking for some confidence!
