Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is set to make a return to Mestalla, as reports from SPORT suggest that he could be included in the starting lineup for Barcelona’s upcoming Copa del Rey clash against Valencia.
This match is particularly significant for Torres, as he will be returning to the place where he made his name in football, having joined Valencia at just seven years old.
Torres has been in impressive form for Barcelona under manager Hansi Flick. The young forward has been a key player, particularly when it comes to providing impactful contributions in crucial moments.
In 24 games this season, Torres has scored seven goals and provided three assists, solidifying his place as one of the team’s reliable assets. His performances have been especially valuable when coming off the bench.
This season alone, he has netted five goals and delivered two assists in substitute appearances, with his involvement in matches against teams like Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, and Real Betis proving decisive in securing vital points for the team.

His last encounter with Valencia came in a match at Montjuic, where Torres started in place of Robert Lewandowski.
In that game, he found the net as part of Barcelona’s dominant 7-1 victory over Valencia, although he did not celebrate the goal out of respect for his former club. Now, with the Copa del Rey match approaching,
Torres could be in line for another start, perhaps even in front of a welcoming crowd at Mestalla, a stadium he once called home.
The 24-year-old has expressed a desire to return to Valencia someday, but for now, he remains focused on making a difference at Barcelona.
Off the pitch, Torres has also shown his commitment to his roots, having actively helped victims of the devastating DANA storm that affected several Valencian towns last year.
He took part in clean-up efforts, assisting those affected by the disaster, showing his dedication to the community. His connection to Valencia extends beyond football, making his return to Mestalla even more meaningful.
