Barcelona star Pedri draws comparisons to Man City legend: ‘He’s reaching that level’ | OneFootball

Barcelona star Pedri has this weekend been likened to one of the standout players in the recent history of Spanish football.

Midfielder Pedri, for his part, is of course in the midst of nothing short of a sensational individual campaign to date.

Having seemingly put his long-standing fitness woes firmly behind him, the 22-year-old has looked back to his brilliant best, standing out as one of world football’s best in his role.

Pedri has shone in all aspects of the game, from passing to dribbling, and off-ball pressure to tackling.

So much so that, this weekend, the youngster has come in for an altogether lofty comparison.

Speaking during an interview with Marca (as cited by Mundo Deportivo), Villarreal star Yeremy Pino was drawn on the talents of his international teammate.

And Pino did not hold back in his praise for Pedri, explaining:

“[David] Silva set the bar very high for a few years, but now Pedri is reaching that level.”

“He’s having a great season. The injuries have hampered him, but it’s a pleasure to watch him every game now.”
