According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Pablo Torre’s future at Barcelona is increasingly uncertain, as his long-term stay at the club could depend on the amount of playing time he gets for the remainder of the season.

It is said that while Barcelona and manager Hansi Flick continue to believe in his potential, those close to the midfielder remain cautious about his situation.

His representatives feel that at 21, Torre needs regular minutes on the pitch to continue his development, and another season on the fringes would not be ideal for his progress.

Opportunity to leave

The talented youngster had opportunities to leave the club during the January transfer window but ultimately stayed. However, his path to a more prominent role remains blocked by intense competition in midfield.

With players like Dani Olmo, Gavi, Fermín, Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong all vying for spots, it has been difficult for Torre to establish himself as a key figure in Flick’s system.

The team simply does not have space for everyone, and as a result, Torre has found himself on the sidelines far too often.

No signs of improvement

Even as the season progresses, his playing time has not improved. The last time he was included in the starting lineup was in the Copa del Rey clash against Barbastro in early January.

Since then, he has barely featured. His most recent appearance came in a league match against Valencia, where he played just 12 minutes.

With his contract running until 2026, this summer could be pivotal in determining what comes next for the Spanish midfielder. If he continues to be on the periphery of the first-team setup, he may need to consider a move elsewhere.

Still impressing

Despite his limited minutes, he has shown glimpses of his talent whenever given the chance, maintaining a high level of performance.

His lack of involvement is more a reflection of the quality of his teammates rather than any shortcomings in his game.

However, time is running out for Torre, and unless his situation changes soon, he may have to explore options away from Barcelona to secure the regular playing time he needs to grow.
