Barcelona warn Juventus off move for defender | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have moved to warn Italian outfit Juventus off a potential move for Ronald Araújo.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

Those behind the scenes at Juventus are actively working towards securing reinforcements at the back with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.

This comes after the Bianconeri saw both Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal condemned to long-term spells on the sidelines, owing to respective ACL injuries.

Amid what is considered something of a logjam at the heart of defence in Barcelona, the understanding is that the board at the Allianz Stadium in turn recently made contact with Deco and co.

As much came in a bid to gather information on two players – Andreas Christensen, and Ronald Araújo.

In the case of the former, basic discussions were held, with Juve considering a loan proposal for a player who has only recently returned from his own stint on the treatment table.

The response regarding Araújo, on the other hand, proved altogether more definitive, the Serie A heavyweights having been informed not to bother prying any further.

This comes with the Uruguayan considered a pivotal figure in Hansi Flick’s squad.
