Despite publicly revealing his desire to leave Manchester United last month, an exit this January has yet to materialise for Marcus Rashford.
There has been links with AC Milan, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund but so far, none of the teams have managed to come up with an acceptable offer.
The Serie A giants have moved on to other targets while as per reports, despite the German side’s interest, the Mancunian dreams of a move to the Catalan giants.
However, so far Barca have failed to make room for the versatile forward and the Englishman’s future remains in limbo with the academy graduate spotted back in United training for the time being.
He has already informed the Spanish giants that if they do not hurry up, he will look at alternate options as he is desperate to play again, having not made a first-team appearance since that infamous interview dropped.
A shock suitor in the form of Besiktas has arrived on the scene as per Turkish journalist Gökmen Ozcan who has claimed that new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is “personally involved” in trying to sign the United No 10.
“INFORMATION: Beşiktaş Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s crazy transfer target: Marcus Rashford.” the journalist wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“The Norwegian coach is personally involved in the signing of the 27-year-old left winger, with whom he worked together at Manchester United.”
Solskjaer had revealed that he has yet to talk with any of his former players but after his debut win, the Norwegian must have realised what his team needs and with Rashford available, a move for him cannot be ruled out.
The former United coach did work with Rashford during his three-year spell in charge of the Old Trafford side and managed to bring the best out of the England international on a consistent basis.
The 27-year-old had scored 55 times in 135 games under the Treble winner including breaking the double-digit mark for goals scored two seasons in a row.
Whether the Englishman will move to Turkiye remains to be seen but if Amorim continues to snub him and Barca declare their inability to bring him in, a sensational reunion is certainly not beyond the realms of imagination.
