Brighton head to East Anglia for the second time in six days to take on Ipswich Town this evening.
Fresh from comfortable cup progress at Norwich City last weekend, Brighton face Ipswich at Portman Road. Fabian Hurzeler will hope his team can shed their status as draw specialists and return to winning ways. Brighton are without a win in eight Premier League games, with six of those – including the last four in succession – ending all square.
That dip in results has seen Brighton drop to 11th in the table. However, the Seagulls are just seven points from the European places, with a game in hand on the sides above them.
Their opponents head into the clash in confident mood after taking four points from their last two games. Ipswich climbed out of the relegation places on goal difference on Wednesday night, following Wolves’ 3-0 defeat at Newcastle.
Brighton are set to be without Joao Pedro due to an ankle injury, while Yankuba Minteh and Georginio Rutter will be assessed after picking up knocks at the weekend. The latter scored twice at Norwich and will hope to retain his place in the forward line.
Lewis Dunk and Tariq Lamptey are expected to return, though the clash comes too soon for James Milner, Ferdi Kadioglu and Jack Hinshelwood. It remains to be seen whether January signing Diego Gomez is included in the squad as he steps up his fitness. The 21-year-old midfielder arrived from Inter Miami earlier this month.
