Eight points separate leaders Bayern Munich and reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen with four games remaining, meaning Vincent Kompany’s side can wrap up the Meisterschale this weekend.
Both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen play at home on Saturday afternoon. Bayern host Mainz, Leverkusen play against Augsburg.
Should Bayern beat Mainz and Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen lose against Augsburg, then the Meisterschale will return to Munich. Should Bayern Munich draw and Leverkusen lose, while the title will not be official, the goal difference will be substantial which would practically confirm the Rekordmeister as Bundesliga champions once again.
Regardless of what Bayer Leverkusen do, two wins from their next four games (Mainz, RB Leipzig, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hoffenheim) will secure Bayern the Bundesliga title.
While no team can confirm Champions League or Europa League football next season, a win for Eintracht Frankfurt against RB Leipzig and defeats for Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen, with both Borussia Mönchengladbach and Augsburg failing to win would at least secure European football for Eintracht, given they can’t finish lower than the Conference League spot.
Should St. Pauli beat Werder Bremen and Heidenheim lose against Stuttgart, Alexander Blessin’s side will secure Bundesliga football next season. In the event that Heidenheim lose against Stuttgart on Friday night, Hoffenheim can also cement their Bundesliga status with a win against Borussia Dortmund.
With Holstein Kiel (18th, 19 points), Bochum (17th, 20 points) and Heidenheim (16th, 22 points), no team can officially be relegated this weekend.
