Dan Burn has said there is ‘nobody out there’ like Newcastle teammate Alexander Isak and believes the forward is ‘one of the best strikers in the world’.

Isak scored twice during Newcastle’s 3-1 win at Southampton in the Premier League this weekend. The Swedish striker’s double took him to 17 goals in the Premier League this season and extended his recent record to 13 goals in 10 games.

He is now third in the race for the Golden Boot, behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (19) and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (18).

Last season, Isak became the first Newcastle player in 20 years to score 20+ league goals in a top-flight season. His form has attracted interest from rival clubs with Arsenal and Liverpool among those reportedly weighing up summer approaches.

Burn believes Isak belongs among the elite goalscorers in the game and said the 25-year-old is a ‘special’ talent. He insists that Isak’s ability to beat players makes him a unique opponent for defenders.

“The way he moves…you come up against special players but there’s nobody out there that dribbles the way he dribbles,” Burn said, as per Sky Sports.

“Even (former Newcastle winger) Allan Saint-Maximin was something different and he was probably the best dribbler I’ve ever played with. Even the quality, it’s not just dribbling for the sake of it.

“He’s on fire at the moment, probably one of the best strikers in the world at the moment.

“It’s hard because it’s hard to defend just the way he moves. He moves his feet quickly but his top half doesn’t really move.”
