Glasgow Derby – Should Celtic given them away tickets?

Still no official confirmation on whether there will be away supporters at the Glasgow Derby match on the eve of St Patrick’s Day. Arne Engels was struck by a coin at Ibrox and the Celtic bench had objects thrown at them in the recent Glasgow Derby, yet the Ibrox club has yet to comment, far less issue an apology to the young Belgian midfielder who worked with their manage while the pair were at Club Brugge.

Celtic had all the necessary work completed ahead of the season starting (see our photos below) to allow away supporters into Celtic Park at the new agreed allocation of 5% of stadium capacity, this means 3000 supporters of theRangers will be given tickets for the match at Celtic Park on 16 March IF they have completed the work at Ibrox and IF Celtic overlook yet more violence from their support at Ibrox directed towards Celtic players, management of supporters.

Should Celtic allow these supporters into Celtic Park given that even time we go there there is some outrageous and violent behaviour directed at our players and/or supporters, including a member of the coaching staff being hit by a glass and send supporters bing stuck by thrown objects including Buckfast bottles.

Celtic understandably are keen to get the away allocation re-introduced but the club has a duty of care to our supporters. It’s a big call for Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson to make.
