There are reportedly some Chelsea staff who believe that one 21-year-old player should be considered for first team selection by Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea have many players in the ranks, many more out on loan, and many more they are looking at to potentially sign in the near future.

EXCLUSIVE! Barcelona eyeing Chelsea midfielders, Blues could capitalise on their interest in Barca defender – and also now eyeing Benfica centre back!

They have a big squad and a big youth academy, but already they have shown how they will need all the players in their first team squad and have a first Xl and a second Xl, with the latter being used for domestic cup competitions and the Europa Conference League.

In that second Xl there have been a couple of appearances at least in the squad for some academy players such as defender Josh Acheampong, who has recently been speaking about the transition from U21s to the first team squad, and winger Tyrique George, both whom are highly rated youngsters in the Chelsea setup.

But other players have missed out, some of whom that academy staff at the club believe should be given a chance in the first team setup.

Vale not featured at all

Vale might soon need to find a new club

21-year-old Harvey Vale, who spent last season having a decent loan spell at Bristol Rovers in League One, has not featured at all really under Maresca for Chelsea this season and that has surprised some at the club.

According to The Daily Mail this week, there are some around the Chelsea academy who believe Harvey Vale should have been kept closer to Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad after his failed summer move, though he has not had that chance like Tyrique George or Josh Acheampong.

Vale has been a player who has been highly rated whilst coming up through the ranks at Chelsea, but he is yet to really get his shot with the first team.

He does offer versatility as well and can play anywhere up that left flank and also in central attacking and midfield areas.

But his Chelsea career looks like it might soon be coming to an end.
