Chelsea Starting XI vs Legia Warsaw: Confirmed team news and predicted lineup

This is not where Chelsea thought they’d be come April. But in the shifting sands of modern football, the Conference League quarter-finals have taken on unexpected significance. With domestic aspirations already buried under inconsistency, Enzo Maresca finds himself leaning into European rotation — not to develop, but to deliver.

As Chelsea travel to face Legia Warsaw in the first leg, the predicted lineup reflects a squad recalibrating its priorities. There’s little margin for error now. Silverware, however modest, has become both target and necessity.
Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Levi Colwill — all left on the bench in the sterile draw at Brentford — are expected to be restored to the starting XI. Palmer, in particular, will seek to snap a frustrating run without a goal since mid-January. His creativity remains central to Chelsea’s rhythm, even when his end product has stuttered.

Maresca’s midfield setup should again feature Kieran Dewsbury-Hall alongside Moises Caicedo, a duo combining grit with progressive intent. The system is unlikely to change — only the sharpness of execution can.

There’s also an experimental edge to this Chelsea side. Filip Jorgensen will start between the posts, and the inclusion of Josh Acheampong — a standout from the academy — hints at a longer-term view within short-term stakes. Benoit Badiashile is another name likely to feature, needing rhythm as much as redemption.

Marc Cucurella, Maresca’s favoured option on the left, is tipped to return, while Tyrique George could again be trusted in Europe, where youthful exuberance has occasionally provided much-needed spark.
