Chivas Femenil is among the best 4 teams of the Clausura 2025! Antonio Contreras' team knew how to manage the tempo and the pressure of a very complicated match at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, and with great maturity they defeated Pumas 1-0 to seal a 3-0 aggregate win and a place in the Semifinals of the championship.
Knowing that the obligation was entirely for the Universitarias, the team from Guadalajara was patient in handling the ball and withstanding the Auriazules' attacks, with the timekeeper as their best ally. As the home side's physical strength dwindled, the Rebaño Sagrado were able to do their damage and found the goal that put their name on the ticket to the Semifinals in the form of their all-time leading scorer.
Chivas Femenil is now preparing to face América in the next phase, with the first leg at the AKRON Stadium and the second leg at the Ciudad de los Deportes.
The goals- The 'Predator' appeared! At 69' Alicia Cervantes won her back inside the box after a superb pass from 'Caro' Jaramillo, eluded Toledo and sent the ball into the net to settle the series.
The dangerous ones- Huge, Blanca! At 8', a mistake at the start left the rivals full to shoot from distance; Félix left a rebound and in Ribeiro's counter-attack, the Rojiblanca goalkeeper made a huge save to prevent the home side's goal.- Viri' came close to the first! Guadalajara responded at 10' when Salazar was left in front of the goal to score with a left-footed shot, but Toledo's diving save was enough to stifle the goal.- Impressive performance by Félix! At 27', the Rebaño keeper was present again with a double save in the six-yard box that silenced CU.- At 39', 'Licha' Cervantes escaped down the left, cut back to find a shooting angle and released her right-footed shot towards the far post, out of Toledo's reach, but her shot went over the top.- Viri' had a chance at 78', when 'Caro' filtered in at the halfway line, but his reception complicated the shot, which ended up over the crossbar.- At 80', Yamile Franco tried from distance, taking advantage of a rebound, but Toledo's gloves prevented the second Rojiblanco goal.
