Manchester City have won the 2024/25 Under-18 Premier League North title for a fourth time in five seasons.

After Manchester United’s 4-4 draw at Everton and our 4-3 triumph over Derby County, City have been crowned champions with 64 points.

Our rivals and last season’s winners Manchester United pushed City to the wire, taking the title fight to the penultimate game of the campaign.

City’s route to the trophy has featured an incredible 21-game winning run, which dates back to 1 September 2024, but it wasn’t smooth sailing as the campaign began.

Under the new leadership of Head Coach Oliver Reiss who took over the Under-18 reins last summer, City’s 2024/25 campaign began slow with a goalless draw at Leeds United before a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester United.

Since then, however, City have not dropped a point in what has been a sublime run of form that has included 87 goals, 12 clean sheets and just 17 goals conceded.

Reflecting on the title triumph, Academy Director Thomas Kruecken said: "Winning the Under-18 Premier League North title is a huge achievement for this football club. Every single person who works in our Academy should be really, really proud of what we have done.

“The players have been superb. First and foremost, they have played in the right way. And the results have been remarkable. It’s been a really special campaign and I want to congratulate all the players.

“Oliver, his staff and all those in support roles have been amazing this season. You cannot get results like we have had without every single person going above and beyond.

“I am so pleased with what we have done. Everyone at City should be really proud of this special group of players.”

The reward for topping the North table means City have earned a place in the National final where we will take on the Under-18 Premier League South winners later this month.

Southampton, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are all contenders to lift the South equivalent trophy.
