Palmer, 22, was named Men’s Young Player of the Year at last year’s ceremony and he has continued to flourish this season for Chelsea.

Gabriel has been rock solid at the heart of the Arsenal defence, while his aerial threat in attack has seen him chip in with important goals for the Gunners this season.

Alongside them, Brentford duo Bryan Mbeumo and Mikkel Damsgaard, as well as Antonee Robinson from Fulham are also nominated for the award.

Chelsea and Arsenal also have two nominees each for the women’s prize, with Guro Reiten and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd and Alessia Russo and Frida Maanum nominated respectively.

Unsurprisingly, Arsenal’s teenage duo Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri are in contention for the Men’s Young Player of the Year award, alongside Romain Esse of Crystal Palace, Tottenham’s Archie Gray and Rocco Vata of Watford.

In the Goalkeeper of the Year category, Arsenal’s David Raya, Mark Flekken of Brentford and Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson are all nominated.

Mikel Arteta is included in the Manager of the Year nominees, with Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Chelsea Women’s manager Sonia Bompastor also selected.

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 27th February, in the Bobby Moore Suite at Wembley Stadium.
