Manchester City return to action in the Premier League in the new calendar year as they welcome West Ham to the Etihad Stadium in 2025.
City managed to end what was turning out to be a torrid closing few matches in 2024 with a victory, as they recorded all three points on the road at Leicester City thanks to goals from Savinho and Erling Haaland either side of half-time.
January presents a hugely challenging month for the club and one that could also dictate their trophy-winning potential away from the seemingly-closed off Premier League title race from the perspective of the champions.
Next weekend will see League Two side Salford City visit the Etihad in the third round of the FA Cup, while there are also challenging away fixtures in the Premier League accompanied by must-win UEFA Champions League meetings with Paris Saint-Germain and Club Brugge.
West Ham come into one of the toughest challenges on paper in the Premier League this weekend off the back of a hugely disappointing result at the end of 2024, as Mohamed Salah and his Liverpool teammates recorded a 0-5 win at the London Stadium.
Manchester City will of course remain without Oscar Bobb and Rodri this weekend, while there is not expected to be any involvement from Ruben Dias or John Stones, who remain sidelined with their own injuries.
Ederson and Matheus Nunes put themselves into contention for matchday involvement as both players returned to first-team training alongside their Manchester City teammates in the last few days.
Ahead of kick-off at the Etihad Stadium, here is how both Pep Guardiola and Julen Lopetegui have lined up their respective Manchester City and West Ham sides in Premier League action!
