Confirmed: Real Madrid star Carvajal has suffered 3 serious knee injuries | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday provided an update on the wellbeing of key defender Dani Carvajal.

This of course comes after the the right-back set alarm bells sounding across the Spanish capital late last night.

En route to Real Madrid’s 2-0 downing of Villarreal, Carvajal was stretchered out of proceedings with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

After immediately being transferred to a local hospital, the 32-year-old, in turn, was put through a series of medical checks and scans this morning.

And, unfortunately for club and player alike, as much have given rise to the worst possible results.

As per a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms on Sunday, Carvajal has suffered no fewer than three injuries – including an ACL tear – in his right leg:

‘Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, a ruptured external collateral ligament and a ruptured popliteus tendon in his right leg. He will undergo surgery in the coming days.’
