Seven-time winners meet an Eagles side hoping to lift their first-ever major trophy at Wembley

Crystal Palace and Manchester City clash in the FA Cup final at Wembley today.

Saturday’s showpiece pits seven-time winners appearing in their third consecutive final against a team hoping to seal a first-ever major trophy.

On that day, the Eagles, then managed by Alan Pardew, were downed by 2-1 by City’s rivals Manchester United in extra time.

Saturday’s final will be Man City’s final chance for major silverware this term, with Pep Guardiola’s side only winning the Community Shield at the start of the campaign.

City are in a fierce battle for Champions League qualification in the Premier League, having been usurped by newly-crowned champions Liverpool.

City have now dropped to sixth in the table after respective wins for Chelsea and Aston Villa on Friday night, but with a game in hand in their fight for a top-five finish.

Palace, meanwhile, sit in the familiar position of 12th, but they are unbeaten in their last five games since their 5-0 thrashing by Newcastle last month.

They earned a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal, before holding Champions League-chasing Nottingham Forest to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

In their most recent outing, they dealt a 20th league defeat of the season to Ange Postecoglou as they beat Tottenham 2-0 in north London.

Glasner’s side made light work of a good Villa team in the semi-finals, and dismantled Tottenham with relative ease last week.
