Manchester United entertain Leicester City in the FA Cup fourth round at Old Trafford tonight.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend, and manager Ruben Amorim will expect a better showing against the Foxes.
Ahead of the game, there will be an enforced change, with Lisandro Martinez ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after sustaining a serious knee injury on Sunday.
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Predicted Line-up:
Amorim has recently preferred to rotate his goalkeepers. Altay Bayindir was exceptional against Arsenal with six saves and also denied Kai Havertz in the penalty shoot-out. The Turkish ace should get the nod over Andre Onana in goal.
Matthijs de Ligt is likely to be reinstated in central defence, with Martinez injured. De Ligt could slot in the right centre-back role with Leny Yoro on the left. Harry Maguire is poised to start in the middle of the back three.
Amad Diallo could return to the right wing-back role tonight as we anticipate the manager will pick a striker. Noussair Mazraoui should drop to the bench. With the inconsistent form of Diogo Dalot, winter signing Patrick Dorgu could make his full debut as a left wing-back.
Amorim has already hinted that the Dane is ‘ready to play‘ after arriving from Lecce.
Bruno Fernandes has impressed from a deeper midfield role alongside Manuel Ugarte, and we expect the same. Kobbie Mainoo has excelled in the left number 10 position where he has had the license to create without extra defensive duties.
The Englishman looks primed to start from a similar role. Alejandro Garnacho could accompany him in attacking midfield. The Argentine’s future has been cleared after constant speculation. We could see the best of him in the coming weeks.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee started on the bench against Palace with Mainoo starting as the false number nine. We anticipate Zirkzee to get the nod as the main striker tonight, as Hojlund has struggled in his last few starts for the Red Devils.
