FC Barcelona have finished their 2024-25 season, as they played their final game of this La Liga campaign against Athletic Club at San Mames. The Blaugranes emerged victorious with a 0-3 scoreline in this match, and thus bade adieu to a memorable season in style.

There was not much at stake in this game, as the Catalans had already wrapped up the league title a few weeks ago. However, one could not have said that this was the case seeing Pedri’s performance, who once again put in an excellent outing despite the inconsequential nature of the game.

Pedri highlights his struggles with injuries

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Canarian midfielder also talked to the media after the match. Pedri took this opportunity to highlight his work in getting rid of the physical problems he had been facing before this season:

“I was really looking forward to this season. I had worked hard over the summer since the injury with the national team. I knew I had to prepare thoroughly, and I was lucky that injuries stayed away. I’ve been able to enjoy what I love most.”

The Canary Islander went on to highlight how injuries impact a footballer:

“When you’re out, you learn many things because you see football from a different perspective. It makes you stronger. When you fall, getting back up makes you even stronger.”

Season-defining El Clasico

Pedri also identified one particular game that set the tone for the season for Barcelona:

“The 0-4 at the Bernabéu was a perfect match for us and it defined the rest of our season.”

Despite his irresistible performances this season, the Spanish midfielder was looking to improve even further for the coming season:

“To keep improving day by day, especially with the club and the national team. That’s the goal.”

While forwards like Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have taken most of the spotlight, one can argue that Pedri has still been the most impressive and influential player for Barcelona this season. Hopefully, he will keep up his performances, or do even better, next season, and continue to write his name in the history of the Catalan club.
