Dumfries: "Feyenoord will be aggressive, we will need to give our all to get to the quarters"

Inter are preparing to take on Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg, which will be played at San Siro on Tuesday 11 March at 21:00 CET. In the press conference on the eve of the match, Denzel Dumfries spoke alongside Simone Inzaghi:
You're considered favourites after the first-leg, what sort of Inter side will we see?
"An Inter side who are playing well, we won in Rotterdam but its the second half of this clash now, we have to win and play well to get to the quarter-final".
What's been your secret this season?
"It's been a great season for me, it's never easy maintaining good form throughout the entire year, but I have done well in this respect and I am proud of how I have grown".
On a physical level, are you feeling tired?
"No, I'm doing well physically, it's important for me to be well and maintain my concentration, but I am doing well physically".
It was a special match for you in Rotterdam, will it be the same tomorrow? Will there be a lot of friends present?
"Different people are coming to watch tomorrow. We want to advance to the quarter's, Feyenoord played well against AC Milan but we need to show that we're always a top side, we must stay focused, we saw this in the last match against Monza in Serie A".
You've worked a lot with some performance coaches in the past, is this also a reason for how you've been playing?
"During my time at Sparta Rotterdam, I worked a lot and I also grew with them, assessing different aspects of football, I think it's always important to be physically ready".
What sort of Feyenoord side do you expect to face tomorrow?
"A very aggressive side, they will come to fight back and win the tie, they have nothing to lose, we must be at our best to win tomorrow, I'm expecting them to be very aggressive".
What does this match mean to you? Could it be a chance for revenge?
Winning tomorrow is very important for all of us to get to the next round. In terms of myself, I want to develop and improve every year" .
How much has the renewal helped in your growth?
"I don't think that it has helped in that, I already before that I would renew, I've worked a lot on myself, mentally and physically and this has given me a lot of strength".
Van der Meyde appreciated your style of play and hunger
"He's my friend, I don't look at what people say about me, I only want to play well and improve, I only think about this".
How important has Inzaghi in your growth? "From the moment I arrived, him and his staff made me feel at home, they're great and help me to grow, I am happy".
How important is Thuram for your team?
"He's really important for us, he's a striker with lots of strength and quality, someone who speaks to everyone in the locker-room, he's really important for us" .
