Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is ‘reluctant’ to lose one of his Magpies stars this month, but it is a ‘sale that could now happen’, according to the Daily Mail.

Howe is battling to reinforce his squad while keeping in mind the need for possible exits to balance PSR rules.

He is keen to hold on to big hitters such as Alexander Isak, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.

However, Miguel Almiron is one player the Magpies have deemed potentially available for the right price.

While MLS club Charlotte FC had shown initial interest in taking the player off Newcastle’s hands, they have since moved on and have turned their focus to former Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.

Brazilian Serie A club Atletico Mineiro are also keen on Almiron and are willing to pay £7m for him.

The Magpies though want a fee in the region of £8.2m to let Almiron leave this month.

Almiron’s former club Atlanta United have now jumped on the bandwagon and are keen on taking him back to the MLS.

The MLS side sold the 30-year-old to Newcastle United back in 2019.

Howe is ‘reluctant’ to lose the services of the Paraguayan this month, however it is a ‘sale that could now happen’.

The winger has struggled to command a spot in the Newcastle side this season and could be tempted by a return to the MLS.
