kicker reports that Eintracht Frankfurt will invest around €20-25m of the fee they received for Omar Marmoush to replace the Egyptian.

Most of the money received from the Marmoush transfer will be used to repay the capital that the club had accumulated. Frankfurt were expected to end the season with a loss of €30-35m but the move for the Egyptian to the Premier League has helped.

When it comes to replacing Marmoush, Frankfurt are looking to Ligue 1. Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo is consistently linked to Die Adler. While Marseille striker Elye Wahi has also been linked to the club by media in France, whether Frankfurt pursue these options now or in the summer is yet to be seen.

In their 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend, Frankfurt did show that they could probably deal without a replacement for Marmoush at least for the next six months. Hugo Ektiké stepped up when he needed to, while Ansgar Knauff, not usually a striker, also put in a solid performance.
