Hakan Calhanoglu will miss out on Inter Milan’s Serie A clash with Bologna due to injury.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Turk will be targeting a return against Empoli next weekend, along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Joaquin Correa.

Calhanoglu was among the Inter players to pick up an injury during the Supercoppa Italiana.

The 30-year-old suffered a thigh problem during the Supercoppa final against AC Milan. This forced him to come off as a substitute during the first half.

Calhanoglu’s injury saw him miss yesterday’s Serie A match away to Venezia.

And the hope was that Calhanoglu would be fit for Wednesday’s match against Bologna.

According to Sky, however, Calhanoglu will not quite recover in time to face Bologna.

Rather, the aim is now to have the Turkish available to face Empoli next Sunday. Inter hardly want to take any risks with his fitness.

Meanwhile, Sky report, Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be back from an injury of his own as soon as the match against Empoli.

The Armenian missed yesterday’s match against Venezia. And he will also be out against Bologna.

However, Mkhitaryan could be fit in time to face Empoli.

The same is true of Joaquin Correa. The Argentine has been out for a couple matches, but should be back against Empoli.

Then, Sky reports, Francesco Acerbi will be available against Bologna on Wednesday. That will be the first match that the Italian international defender is available for in two months.
