Ex Man Utd, England & Sampdoria Star Lee Sharpe: “Inter Milan One Of Three Favorites To Win The Champions League” | OneFootball

Former Sampdoria, England & Manchester United star Lee Sharpe believes Inter are one of three favorites to win the Champions League this season.

Sharpe spoke exclusively with The Italian Football Podcast and SempreInter.com where he tipped Inter Milan as one of the favorites to win the Champions League this season.

The former England and Manchester United winger was speaking at an online event hosted by Texas Poker.

Furthermore, Lee Sharpe, who spent a short stint at Sampdoria on loan, argued that it wont be easy for Inter Milan to win the Champions League this season.

When asked about Inter Milan’s chances in the Champions League Sharpe was clear.

“I know there are a few really strong sides still in the Champions League they have to beat if they do win it.

“Historically Italian teams have never conceded many. They’ve always been very tight defensively. And in cup competitions that is very imperative, that you keep clean sheets.

“That you give yourself a chance and they can score goals. I think they will be one of three favorites with the bookies.”

Lee Sharpe was then asked to comment on how well Simone Inzaghi would do in the Premier League.

“How is his English?” Sharpe began by asking rhetorically.

“I don’t know. It’s a totally different league. I think it asks totally different questions of managers and players.

“But if you’re a winning manager, if you’re a successful, you can come over here and be successful over here.

“Antonio Conte has proved that he can do that, Lots of foreign managers do come over. Arteta has proven he’s good. Slot.

“There’s not a lot of British managers that can compete with European and foreign managers these days.

“They come over with a fresh intensity, fresh ideas. But I think communication is key. So his English would concern me a little bit.

“But as far as tactics and knowledge of the game, there is no reason why he wouldn’t be successful” Sharpe concluded.

Lee Sharpe – Napoli Will Win The Serie A Title

In conclusion, Sharpe was asked who he thinks will win the Serie A title out of Atalanta, Inter Milan and Napoli.

The former Sampdoria player had no doubts. “Napoli.”

Lee Sharpe spent an unsuccessful stint in the beginning of 1998 at Sampdoria under Luciano Spalletti and David Platt, featuring only three times before returning to England.

Sharpe spent eight seasons with Manchester United featuring 243 times across all competitions scoring 30 goals in the process.

During his sting at Old Trafford, he won 10 trophies, including the Premier League thrice, the FA Cup twice and the Cup Winners Cup in 1991 against Barcelona.
